HAMLIN, Gwendolyn "Gwen" Rachel
April 7, 1938 - April 4, 2009
Gwen Hamlin, beloved wife of the late Robert Hamlin, passed away at the Rosedale Hospice after a lengthy battle with illness at the age of 70 years. Gwen and Robert were actively involved in square dancing, and they met good friends with their involvement with this community. Gwen was an employee at the Foothills Medical Centre for twenty three years prior to her retirement. She was a great cook and loved to entertain guests. She also enjoyed visits to Hawaii, and camping with family and friends. Gwen was a loving daughter, mother, sister and grandmother; she will be remembered for her strong love of her family and courage, while facing her declining health. Gwen is survived by her mother, Edith Beliveau; brother, Wesley; daughter-in-law, Sheila; beloved grandsons, Jesse and Michael; as well as Ronald (Gertie) Stinson; Sandra (Robert) Thrall; Alice Vermette; Raymond (Jolayne) Vermette; Al (Madeline) Yaworski, and Douglas (Margie) Hamlin. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Hamlin, her only son Maurice, and her father Emilien Beliveau. Special thanks to her many caregivers at the Foothills Medical Centre and Rosedale Hospice. Memorial Services will be held at Parkdale United Church (2919 - 8 Avenue N.W.) on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Rosedale Hospice, No. 920 - 7A Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2M3J3 (Telephone 403-284-5195) or a charity of the donor's choice.
