- Obituary:
BRADLEY, JOHN MICHAEL "MICKEY", age 62, of Pleasant Grove, died June 21, 2007.
Mr. Bradley was in the Army National Guard "Dixie" Division. He was retired from U. S. Steel after 25 years of service. He also worked for Huntsman Packaging for 15 years. His last place of employment was the Piggly Wiggly Distribution Center for several years. He was a long standing member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Mickey used his time and talents in the service of others. He was known for his love of gardening, fishing, music, and sitting on the pier of his beloved river house. He was a wonderful brother, husband, father, and grandfather, he will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerome C. Bradley.
Survivors: wife of 41 years, Janice Bradley; children, Alecia Kontzen (Clark) of Charlotte, NC and Bryan Bradley of McCalla, AL; grandchildren, Andrew Kontzen and Ryan Kontzen; brothers, Charles P. Bradley of Canton, MI, Daniel F. Bradley (Carolyn) of Sylvan Springs, and Joseph M. Bradley (Monique) of McCalla; sisters, Cecilia George (Jim) of Birmingham, Diane Trapolino (John) of Lakeview, and Teresa Bradley of Pleasant Grove; sister-in-law, Lois Bradley; several nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, June 23, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patricks Catholic Church with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Father Bean officiating.
Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church with Prayer Service at 6 p.m.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to all the nurses and doctors of Brookwood Medical Center for their love and outstanding care.
