Notes - Obituary:
Herman Weber Hebert, 82, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2005, in his residence.
He was a native of Port Arthur, Texas, and had been a resident of Lake Charles for many years. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, having served in the 376 th bomber division in North Africa. After his military career, he served in the Merchant Marines. He had been a member of First Baptist Church of Lake Charles for 52 years where he belonged to the auditorium Sunday school class, the October Harvesters, drove the church van for the transportation committee, and was an usher. Herman worked 14 years as a volunteer for Abraham's Tent. He retired in 1984 from Olin Chemical Company after 36 years of service, where he worked in the hydrazine unit. He enjoyed bowling and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Sue Hebert of Lake Charles; one son, Kenneth Hebert and his wife, Ellen, of Topsy; two daughters, Debra Pollinger and her husband, John, of Lake Charles, and Lisa Woods and her husband, Larry, of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; two sisters, Ruby Hagen of Ragley and Frankie Moreau of Lake Charles; and seven grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hebert; a brother, David Hebert; two sisters, Nora Smith and Irma Hebert.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. today, Feb. 21, in Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Dr. John White will officiate. Burial will be in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is from 8 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.mem.com.
