    • Obituary:

      OCOEE, Fla. - Louis C. Smith, 83, formerly of Okeechobee, Fla., died Sunday, March 27, 2005, at Winter Garden Health Central Hospital.

      Mr. Smith was born Oct. 10, 1921, in Graham, Fla. He was retired from Gulf Life Insurance Company and Emory Walker Company in Okeechobee. Mr. Smith was a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Winter Garden. He was a veteran of World War II and Korea, having served our country in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Mr. Smith was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star.

      Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Nora Hebert Smith.

      Mr. Smith is survived by two daughters, Mathilda Bohanon of Sebring, Fla., and Elizabeth Hendrick of Sanford, Fla.; one sister, Era Rogers of Monroe, N.C.; two grandchildren, Katherine Strong of Bushnell, Fla., and David A. Hendrick Jr. of Osteen, Fla.; and one greatgrandson, Hunter Lee Strong of Bushnell.

      All arrangements are entrusted to the loving care of Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home and Crematory.
