- Obituary:
John Cren, 89 of Ensley, was born April 30, 1925 and died March 13, 2015.
John is fondly remembered as the proprietor of small businesses in the Ensley area, including the record shop at 5 points west. He was a veteran of the Italian campaign in WWII.
He is survived by Ann (Steele) Cren, his cherished wife of 58 years; nieces Carol Ellingson (husband Richard Bend) of Afton, Minnesota, and Thelma Young Steele of Cullman, Alabama; Nephews Robert T. Ellingson (wife Debbie) of Social Circle, Georgia, Chester W. Ellingson III (wife Sharon) of Rosemount, Minnesota; grand-nieces Kari Ellingson Craft (husband Mitch) of Fairhope, Alabama, and Jenny Ellingson Harms (husband Denny) of Covington, Georgia; and great-grand-nieces Cora Harms and great-grand-nephew Brooks Craft. He loved all his nieces and nephews to pieces, especially the little ones.
To be interred in a private family service at Elmwood Cemetery. It was his wish to have no flowers or memorials.
