    • Obituary:

      Wilbert "Mac" McComb Sr. 82, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2008, in a local hospital.

      He was born Dec. 30, 1925, in Kaplan to Exale McComb and Niola Primeaux McComb. He retired from Pepsi Cola after 33 years. He loved to play softball and he loved gardening. He served as a Marine in World War II on Iwo Jima.

      He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Dorothy LeBleu McComb; a son Wilbert McComb III; and one brother, Wilford McComb. He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Wilbert "TBoy" McComb Jr. and wife Regina, Gilbert McComb and wife Debra, Gene McComb, Robert McComb and girlfriend Jackie and Mark McComb and wife Colleen; daughters, Joey Leith and husband Eric, Shirley Jones and husband Doug, Becky Laracca and husband Joe, Nelda McComb and Connie Cooper and husband Donnie; daughter-in-law, Patty McComb; a brother, Rodney McComb; 33 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

      His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, in Hixson Funeral Home. Deacon Carr will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation is 3-9 p.m. today and 8 a.m.-2 p.m. on Tuesday. A rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. today.
