  Obituary: SHREVEPORT, LA - Mr. Joseph Homer Gardner, 84, died at Schumpert Medical Center on Monday, March 18, 1996. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m., Wednesday, at Osborn Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Dr. Floyd Davis assisted by Rev. Douglas Burton of Woodridge Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery. Mr. Gardner was a native of Bollinger, LA and was raised in Ida, LA. He was a retired farmer and resident of South Caddo Parish for 61 years. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mable Martin Gardner; three sons, Dr. Homer R. Gardner and wife Sandra of Vicksburg, MS, Dr. William R. Gardner and wife Carol of Wiggins, MS, and John R. Gardner, J.D. and wife Mary of Shreveport; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Woodridge Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be the Anglers Sunday School Class. The family wishes to thank the physicians that attended Mr. Gardner in his last days and the medical staff at Schumpert Hospital. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memoirals be made to the Woodridge Baptist Church Building Fund, 3845 St. Vincent, Shreveport, LA 71108.
