  Obituary: PALESTINE, TX - Funeral services for Phil Brackman, 58, of Palestine, Texas will be at 2 pm on Sunday, December 2, 2007 at Ida Methodist Church in Ida, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Munnerlyn Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home, Palestine. Mr. Brackman died Friday, November 30, 2007 at his residence. He was born January 30, 1949 in Blytheville, Arkansas. Mr. Brackman was raised in Arkansas and had lived in Palestine for 2 years. He worked for Apache Corporation in oil and gas exploration. He loved to fish and he loved his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Brackman of Palestine; son, Phillip Jeffrey Brackman of Shreveport, La; daughter, Stephanie Mattison of Shreveport, La and five grandchildren, Sydney Mathews, Christian Mathews, Hayden Mathews, Emma Brackman and Kierstyn Mattison. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to Dr. Martin Klein, Dr. Duane Andrews and to the Hospice of East Texas. Visitation will be 5-7 pm Saturday, December 1, 2007 at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home in Palestine and from 1-2 pm on Sunday at the Ida Methodist Church.
