      David Ashton Sholte

SHREVEPORT, LA - A Memorial Service for David Ashton Sholte will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Rose-Neath Bossier Chapel. Officiating will be Msgr. Earl V. Provenza of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Visitation will be just prior to the service, starting at 10 a.m.

David was born on October 16, 1955, in Big Spring, TX and passed away on December 4, 2017.

David graduated from Bossier High School in 1974. He was fiercely loyal, strong and defended his family and friends the same way he defended his teammates as an Offensive Tackle for the Bossier Bearkats. David was highly intelligent and analytical, which made getting his B.S. in Computer Science from Louisiana Tech, in 1978, a perfect fit for him.

His first job was for the City of Bossier as it's Manager of the Water Billing department. He left that job to become the Senior Systems Analyst for Kast Metals. In 1982 he started a consulting business, where he designed, implemented and ran a number of successful computer systems for various businesses. David was a very kind and generous person who would do anything within his abilities for his friends and family. David loved watching football. He especially loved watching his nephew Mark play for the Byrd Yellow Jackets, and Washington University in St Louis Bears. David was also a licensed private pilot and loved flying planes.

David is survived by his brother, Frank Glenn Sholte, Jr. MD; sister-in-law, Catherine (Kitty) Farace Sholte; brother, Robert L. Middleton and his wife, Mollyerin Middleton, and nephew, Mark Glenn Sholte. Predeceased by his mother, Carolyn Louise Birdwell Middleton; father, Frank Glenn Sholte; brother, George Warrick Sholte; nephews, Ashton Michael Middleton and Christopher Warrick Middleton.

In lieu of flowers, gifts honoring David's memory may be made to Louisiana Tech University Foundation, memo line: David Sholte - Computer Science Department, PO Box 3183, Ruston, LA 71272, or at www.latechalumni.org; or charity of choice.
