Kenny Jones, 68, of Marion TX, died Sunday, February 3 at Resolute Health Hospital in New Braunfels.

He was born on May 3, 1950 to Bert and Mary Jones in Sweetwater, TX. He grew up in Kermit, TX and graduated from Kermit High School in 1968. An Air Force Vietnam Veteran, he served his country for 9 years before returning to West Texas and working in the oilfield. Kenny moved to New Braunfels, TX in 2003 and worked at Texas State University and Comal Pecan Farm before retiring.

An avid music lover, Kenny was known for entertaining friends and family with his guitar and singing. One of his proudest moments was appearing on BBC with his band. He never met a stranger; everyone became his buddy. As a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, he also loved preaching and teaching the Word of God in several congregations around Texas.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Patricia Hell-Jones; mother-in-law, Margie Hell; children, Robert (Anna) Jones, Melanie (Michael) Di Giglio and Casey Bilbrey; sister, Mary Ann (Allen) Brock; sister-in-law, Billie Jones; brothers-in-law, Clayton (Beverly) Hell and Edward (Peggy) Hell; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives, as well as his canine companions, Nozy and Piglet.

He is preceded by his parents, Bert and Mary Jones; sister, Carol Clemens, and brother, Tim Jones.

The memorial service will be held Saturday, February 9 at 10am at Schertz Church of Christ, 501 Schertz Pkwy, Schertz, TX 78154.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to one of the following organizations: Texas State University Forensic Anthropology Center, Guide Dogs of Texas, or the Texas Fund for Veterans' Assistance (TX Veterans Commission).
