Notes - Obituary:
ANDRUS - James D. Andrus, 36, of Caplan, died in a Houston hospital at 7 a.m. Tuesday. Born in North Zulch, lived in Houston 10 years. Was a member of Loyalty Baptist Church. Employe of Rheem Manufacturing Company. Survivors: Wife, Mrs. Lola Andrus; two daughters, Mrs. Wanda Joyce Cunningham and Miss Dorothy Marie Andrus; parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Andrus, all of Houston; three sisters, Mrs. Ella Mae May of North Zulch, Mrs. Melba Ruth McGinty of Houston, Mrs. Estelle Greer of Bryan; brother, Herman Andrus of North Zulch. Body will be taken overland to the Madisonville Funeral Home for services and burial in the Willow Hole Cemetery at North Zulch. Settegast-Kopf directing in Houston.

James D. Andrus Buried September 16 At Willowhole
Last rites were held at the Willowhole Church Sept. 16 for James Dallas Andrus, 36, who died in a Houston hospital Sept. 15. Mr. Andrus received a head injury several weeks ago while working at his job in Houston and the injury caused meningitis which resulted in death.
He was born in North Zulch and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Andrus who are residents of North Zulch. He was a member of the Loyalty Baptist Church of Houston.
Surviving him are his wife who was Lola McClain before their marriage: his parents; two daughters, Mrs. Wanda Joyce Cunningham and Dorothy Marie Andrus both of Houston; three sisters, Mrs. Ella Mae May of North Zulch, Mrs. Melba Ruth McGinty of Houston, and Mrs. Estelle Greer of Bryan; and one brother, Herman Andrus of Pickton.
Services were conducted at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday by Rev. Mr. Nelson of Houston. Interment was in the Willowhole Cemetery under the direction of Day Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Curtis Greer, Jack Kelly, Herb Nash, Joe Reed Carter, Truett English, and Edgar Vassar.
