- Obituary:
Daniel "Dan" Paul Bacher
February 3, 1944 - January 2, 2026
Daniel Paul Bacher, 81, a longtime resident of Rowlett, Texas, passed away on January 2, 2026, in Mesquite, Texas.
Born in Tacoma, Washington, to Albert Paul Bacher and Frances Anita Lilly, Daniel spent his youth on the west coast, where the values of hard work, service, and family were instilled early in his life. He went on to build a long and steady career in manufacturing, earning the respect of those who worked alongside him through his reliability, work ethic, and quiet dedication.
Daniel proudly served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1968, attaining the rank of Specialist (E-4). His military service reflected the sense of duty and commitment that remained a constant throughout his life.
On May 23, 1987, Daniel married Wanda Joyce Bacher, and together they shared a devoted partnership grounded in faith, commitment, and family. Dan had a servant's heart, and his faith and family always came first. His love and care for his wife, Joyce were evident to all who knew him.
Dan enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially time with family and a good game of poker. In his final days, the family was blessed to bring him home, allowing him to spend Christmas surrounded by those he loved. Once reunited with his family, Dan was at peace and ready to go home to heaven.
He is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Joyce Bacher; his children, Cynthia Chase, Lisa Wallace, John Bacher, Beverly Crist, Deborah Hardesty, Paul Machart, and Cheryl Hall; and by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren to whom he was lovingly known as Poppy and Grandpa.
