Wiley Webster Carlisle Jr.
January 4, 1926 - March 28, 2011
Wiley Webster Carlisle Jr., 85, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, born Monday, January 4, 1926 in La Porte, Texas to Wiley Webster Carlisle Sr. & Bertie M. (Roberts) Carlisle; went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 28, 2011 in Baytown, Texas.
Wiley or Jouner by his family and friend has been a lifelong resident of the Houston area; leaving to serve his country honorably in the United States Navy. Wiley was a dedicated worker for Exxon Mobile in Baytown for over forty years until his retirement. Wiley enjoyed many things in life such as fishing and camping, but especially traveling; fond memories are cherished by the Carlisle family of trips as far west as California, as far north as Canada, as far east to Massachusetts and as far south as Florida. But what Wiley loved more than anything in the world were the time he shared with his family and friends. Wiley will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Wiley is preceded in death by his parents, Wiley Webster Carlisle Sr. & Bertie M. Carlisle and sister, Wanda McWey. Wiley is survived by his beloved wife of sixty-four and a half years, Ann Carlisle; son, James Carlisle & wife Tricia; daughter, Pat Carlisle; granddaughter, Tina Carlisle & James Sanders; grandson, Cody Carlisle; great-grandson, Alexander "A.J." Sanders and numerous other extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held Friday, April 1, 2011 from 5-8pm at Sterling ~ White Funeral Home in the Chapel. A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 2:00pm at Sterling ~ White Funeral Home in the chapel, with burial following at Sterling ~ White Cemetery at the Pavilion. Services have been entrusted to Sterling ~ White Funeral Home & Cemetery, 11011 Crosby Lynchburg Road, Highlands, Texas 77562.
The Carlisle family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff and nursing facilities, Skilled Nursing, North Main Nursing Home, West Baker Nursing Home and Green Acres of Baytown for all their dedicated and caring service they provided Mr. Carlisle and to them through this time. The family would like to also extend another heartfelt thank you to, Dr. James Walmsely, Joe Matthieu and Kenny Zwahr for their dedicated friendship over the years and the Highlands Fire Department EMS for their caring and dedicated service.
