    • Death Notice:

      Ovey Cormier, 84, died at 9:50 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, 1991. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today at the St. Theresa Catholic Church with the Rev. Marty Bourcherdin officiating. Burial will follow in the Cossinade Cemetery in Kaplan.

      Ovey Cormier

      Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 23 at St. Therese Catholic Church for Ovey Cormier, 84, who died Sunday, Dec. 22, 1991 at 9:50 a.m. at Abbeville General Hospital. The Rev. Marty Borcherding officiated. Burial followed in the Cossinade Cemetery in Kaplan.

      Survivors include his wife, Marie Louisiana Thibodeaux Cormier, Abbeville; one daughter, Mrs. James Herman (Della) Broussard, Abbeville; one foster daughter, Mary Gullet, Rayne; one brother, Eno Cormier, Kaplan; two sisters, Mrs. Clarphey (Lucille) Champagne and Mrs. Althe (Ozite) Guidry, both of Abbeville; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, Emar Cormier and Lezima Hebert; two brothers and three sisters.

      Pallbearers included Douglas Cormier, Raywood Cormier, Preston Cormier, Wiltz Menard, Herman Broussard, Hartwell Champagne, Louis Meaux, Presley Cormier and Karl Meaux.

      Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville was in charge of arrangements.
