ALLEN SR., DAVID E.
A retired commercial fisherman and a resident of Bayou Sorrel, he died at 1:27 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13, 1999, at Plaquemine Manor. He was 90 and a native of Bayou Chene. Visiting at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. Religious services at the funeral home at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. Ralph Doiron. Interment in Grace Memorial Park. Survived by his wife of 64 years, Electa Guillot Allen, Bayou Sorrel; three daughters, Elaine Allen, Baton Rouge, Linda Allen, Columbia, Mo., and Jackie Duncan, Bayou Sorrel; five sons, David "Black" Allen Jr. and Walter Allen, both of Bayou Sorrel, Anthony "Tony" Allen, Bayou Plaquemine, Michael Allen and Thomas "Tubby" Allen, both of Bayou Sorrel; two brothers, James Allen and Borice Allen, both of Plaquemine; 20 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by a sister, Esther Smith; five brothers, Ernest, Guy, Lester, Joseph and Oscar Allen; and parents, Joseph Edward and Martha Stockstill Allen. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
