Notes - Obituary:
EDGAR FLOYD MARCUS, 78, a resident of San Juan Pueblo passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2005 following a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his sons, Robert and Russel Marcus; father, William Floyd Marcus and sister, Poly Evans. Edgar served in the Army, Marines and retired from the Air Force. He worked as a civil service man for the Department of Defense. He ran a construction company in the Espanola Valley for 15 years. He is survive by his wife, Elizabeth "Libby" Marcus of San Juan Pueblo; sons, Charles Marcus and wife Sandy of San Juan Pueblo and Ed Marcus Jr. and wife Doreen of Albuquerque; mother, Ellen Marcus of Portales; sister, Peggy Downs and husband Steve of Colorado; grandchildren, Spooner, Belin, Byron, Tarrah, Rion and Shawna Marcus, Shawna and Shane of Conway Arkansas; great-grandchildren, Elmerah Garcia and Dezmond and Anika Marcus and numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation was Monday, May 16, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home with a rosary following at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at 9:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in San Juan Pueblo. Burial followed at 11:00 am. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers; Spooner, Byron, and Rion Marcus, Gus Koenig, Baron Wells and John Bird. Honorary pallbearers are Parker Wells, Roger Wallace, Lorenzo Galvan, Ed Sanchez, Arturo Pacheco and Ed Chavez.
