Thomas Fry Services Planned
Funeral services for Thomas H. Fry, 66, whose father, Oliver, founded the town of Fry near Ft. Huachuca, will be held at 4:30 p.m. today at Bring's Funeral Home chapel. L. H. Ousley, of the Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be in South Lawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Fry was dead on arrival at Tucson Medical Center Thursday night shortly after he had collapsed with an apparent heart attack while dining with his wife at a local restaurant.
He was born in Centerville, Iowa, and moved to Houston, Tex., with his parents when he was 7 years old. He attended Houston schools.
Mr. Fry and his father homesteaded what came to be known as the town of Fry in 1912. The original town still exists but is surrounded by the town of Sierra Vista.
Mr. Fry drove the high school bus between Ft. Huachuca and Tombstone for 16 years before ill health forced him to retire in 1958. He had lived at 2538 N. Forgeus Ave. since that time.
He is survived by his wife, Lema; four sisters, Mrs. June Clark, of San Francisco, Mrs. Alice Rogers, of El Paso, and Mrs. Edna Smith and Miss Agnes Fry, of Bisbee; two brothers, Cecil, of Scottsdale, and Irving, of Fry; and two stepdaughters, Mrs. Helen Grainger, of Douglas, and Mrs. Wanda Davis, of Junction, Tex.
