Venson Williams
RUSK - Services for Venson Wingfield Williams, 64, Rusk, are scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home chapel in Rusk with the Revs. Don Copeland and Tommy Mabry officiating.
Burial will be in Salem Cemetery near Rusk.
Mr. Williams died Monday in a Rusk nursing home after a brief illness.
He was born Aug. 19, 1927, in Rusk, lived most of his life in Rusk and was a Baptist. He retired from Merchant Marines after 20 years of service. He retired from Rusk State Hospital and Vernon State Hospital as a security guard after 18 years service.
Survivors include two sons, Quay Williams and Todd Williams, both of Austin; his fiance, Geraldine Henderson, Rusk; five brothers, Gerald Williams, Longview, Travis Williams, Marlin, Dan Williams, Thorndale, Beuford Williams, Rusk, and Roger Williams, Rusk; five sisters, Bernice Dear, Norma Black and Maxine Cummins, all of Rusk, Doris "Kate" Williams, Highlands, and Ann Spurgeon, Longview; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers include nephews.
