Roy Alfred Hicks Sr.
SKIDMORE - Roy Alfred Hicks Sr., 55, died Thursday in a San Antonio hospital after a long illness.
He was an oilfield worker.
Surviving are two sons, Roy Alfred Hicks Jr. of Skidmore and Ronnie Hicks of Auston; three daughters, Miss Mattie Mae Hicks of Skidmore, Mrs. Sandy Trevino of Azusa, Calif., and Mrs. Joyce Gail Scott of Denver, Colo.; his mother, Mrs. Lula Mae Hicks; and a brother, Ray M. Hicks, both of Skidmore; and two grandchildren.

BEEVILLE - Roy Alfred Hicks, 55, of Skidmore, died Thursday at 11 p.m. in a San Antonio hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born Feb. 12, 1925 in Tynan, Mr. Hicks was an oilfield worker and a member of both the First Baptist Church in Skidmore and Beeville's Masonic Lodge No. 261. He was also the recipient of the Bronze Star as a veteran of World War II.
Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore.
Mr. Hicks is survived by his ex-wife, Mrs. Mattie G. Hicks of Skidmore; three daughters, Miss Mattie Mae Hicks of Skidmore, Mrs. Sandy Trevino of Azusa, Calif. and Mrs. Joyce Gail Scott of Denver, Colo.; two sons, Roy Alfred Hicks Jr. of Skidmore and Ronnie Hicks of Austin; his mother, Mrs. Lula Mae Hicks of Skidmore; a brother, Ray M. Hicks of Skidmore; and two grandchildren.

SKIDMORE - Funeral services for Roy Alfred Hicks, 55, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Galloway & Sons Chapel. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore.
He was a WWII veteran in the 75th Infantry, Army. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star for bravery. He worked in the oilfield business most of his life. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Skidmore, and a member of the Beeville Masonic Lodge No. 261 AF & AM.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Mattie G. Hicks of Skidmore; two sons, Roy Alfred Hicks, Jr. of Skidmore, Ronnie Hicks of Austin; three daughters, Mattie Mae Hicks of Skidmore, Mrs. Sandy Trevino, Azusa, California, Mrs. Joyce Gail Scott of Denver, Colorado; his mother, Mrs. Lula Mae Hicks of Skidmore; one brother, Ray M. Hicks of Skidmore; two grandchildren.

Roy Alfred Hicks, 55, died at 11 p.m. Thursday at Audie Murphy Veterans' Hospital in San Antonio, following a long illness.
Funeral services were held at 10 o'clock this morning at Galloway and Sons Chapel. Dr. B.C. Brown officiated.
Mrs. B.C. Brown was the organist. Special music was "Rock of Ages" and "My God and I."
Burial followed in the Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore. Members of the Masonic Lodge served as pallbearers.
Mr. Hicks was born Feb. 12, 1925, in Tynan to Lula Mae (Franz) and Alfred Myral Hicks.
He served with the 75th Army Infantry during World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star.
A resident of Skidmore most of his life, he was an oil field employee and a member of the First Baptist Church in Skidmore.
Survivors include his ex-wife, Mrs. Mattie G.
