WATER BONANZA--This well flowed 880 gallons a minute when brought in three weeks ago. Drilled by W. J. Drgac and his sons, Albert, W. C. and Hubert, shown above left to right, the well furnished water with which the Drgacs, dairy farmers, saved desperately-needed oats thought killed by the March freeze. The well now flows a steady 450 gallons a minute.

Walter J. Drgac rites scheduled
Walter Joseph Drgac, 78, of Mereta Route, San Angelo, died at 4:05 a.m. today at Clinic-Hospital.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Tailas of San Angelo, the Rev. Henry Beseda of Caldwell and the Rev. John Hoesman of Dallas, officiating. Burial will be in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Drgac was born Oct. 14, 1892, at Caldwell and was married to Annie Mary Langer Nov. 21, 1915, at Cooks Point. He moved to San Angelo in 1936 where he had been a stock farmer and longtime dairyman.
He was a charter member of the Unity of the Brethren Church at Cooks Point, serving as secretary for the church Sunday school union. He was a Sunday school teacher at Cooks Point and also taught Czech Bible School there.
After moving to San Angelo he was a member of the Unity of the Brethren Church in Wall and served as president of the Board of Elders of the church and was a member of the choir.
He held offices in the Farmers Mutual Protective Association and SPJST Life Insurance at Cooks Point. He was a member of the SPJST at Cooks Point more than 50 years and a member of the Mutual Aid for 55 years.
He helped organize the local SPJST Lodge No. 160 and RVOS Lodge No. 25 of which he was a charter secretary of both.
He was preceded in death by his wife.
Survivors include four daughters, Evelyn Drgac of Veribest, Mrs. Dorothy Kokes and Clarice Drgac, both of San Angelo, and Mrs. Viola Krupala of Wall; three sons, W. C. Drgac of Craig, Colo., Hubert Drgac of San Angelo and J. D. Drgac of Odessa; three brothers, Bill Drgac, Ed Drgac and Frank Drgac, all of Caldwell; six sisters, Mrs. Lydia Kubena, Mrs. Milady Kubena, Mrs. Libbie Chaloupka, Mrs. Elizabeth Luksa and Mrs. Olga Urbanovsky, all of Caldwell, and Mrs. Albina Meyer of Cameron; an uncle, Pete Drgac of Caldwell; 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Larry Drgac, Gary Drgac, Stanley Holik Jr., all of San Angelo, Melvin Hronek and Lamar Drgac, both of Caldwell, and Marvin Kubena of Houston.

Funeral services for Walter J. Drgac, 78, of Mereta Route, San Angelo, Texas, were held on Sept. 7, 1971, in San Angelo with Rev. Thomas Tallas and Rev. Henry Beseda officiating. Burial was in Lawn-haven Memorial Gardens. Mr. Drgac died Friday, Sept 3, in Clinic Hospital in San Angelo after a brief illness.
He was born in Burleson County, near Cooks Point, on Oct. 14, 1892, the son of John and Mary (Sebesta) Drgac. He was a charter member of the Brethren Church of Cooks Point, taught Sunday School, and also taught a Czech Bible School. On Nov. 12, 1915, he was married to Annie Mary Langer at Cooks Point, and nine children were born to this union. He lived all his early life on a farm near Cooks Point except for six years that he worked for the Parkhill Grocery Company in Caldwell.
In 1936 he moved his family to San Angelo, where he became a well known farmer, rancher, and dairyman. He was active in the Wall Brethren Church, the Mutual Aid Society, RVOS, and SP JST.
He was preceded in death by his wife and two sons.
