    • Obituary:

      CALDWELL - Services for Robert C. Siptak, 82, of Caldwell are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell.

      The Rev. Steve Stigler will officiate. Burial will be in the Caldwell Masonic Cemetery with military honors under the auspices of VFW Post 4458 of Caldwell.

      Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 7:30 a.m. to the time of the services Tuesday at the funeral home.

      Mr. Siptak died Saturday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

      He was born in Burleson County and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was owner and operator of Siptak-Pargac Pharmacy in Caldwell for 36 years until his retirement in 1983. He was a charter member, past president and Melvin Jones Fellowship recipient of the Caldwell Lions Club.

      He was a member of the Caldwell Volunteer Fire Department, member and former commander of American Legion Post 451 and member and former commander of VFW Post 4458. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and served as trustee and chairman of the administrative council and several committees. In 1992 he was named as Burleson County Senior Citizen of the Year.

      Survivors include his wife, Gerry Siptak of Caldwell; a daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Bill Smith of Longview; a sister and brother-in-law, Lydia and Dr. L.J. Rode of Houston; a sister-in-law, Bettye Siptak of Caldwell; two grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.
