  Death Notice: HRONEK, Melvin M. Sr., 77, of Caldwell died Wednesday. Services 2 p.m. today, Cooks Point Brethren Church, Cooks Point, Burial Cooks Point Brethren Cemetery. Arrangements by Phillips & Luckey, Caldwell. (Published in The Austin American-Statesman on April 6, 2001) Obituary: COOKS POINT - Services for Melvin M. Hronek, Sr., 77, of Cooks Point are set for 2 p.m. Friday at Cooks Point Brethren Church. The Rev. Norman Haisler and the Rev. Joseph Polasek will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell. Mr. Hronek died Wednesday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. He was born in the Cooks Point community. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a retired dairy farmer and rancher. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Lois Schoeneman Hronek of Cooks Point; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth Sr. and Novella Hronek of Cooks Point, and Melvin Jr. and Janet Hronek of Sweeny, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela Ann and Mickey Littlejohn of Somerville; a brother and sister-in-law, A.G. and Bernice Hronek of Cooks Point; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
