    • Obituary:

      Funeral services for Mr. Stephen Bannerman Pugh Jr., 80, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug 25, 2001 in the chapel at Bailey Mortuary with the Rev. Charles Woolley officiating. Burial followed in the Old Sarepta Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary of Springhill.

      Mr. Pugh died Wednesday, Aug. 22, in the Dubois Hospital of Shreveport following an illness.

      He was a native of Grand Cane, La. and a resident of Shreveport. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII and an employee of International Paper Company for 26 years as a boilerman. He raised cattle, horses, and loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of New Sarepta Baptist Church where he serves as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Ziegler Pugh in 1988.

      Mr. Pugh is survived by a daughter, Denise Allen and her husband, James of Sarepta; a son, David Pugh and his wife, Mary of Bradley, Ark.; two brothers, Dr. N.O. Pugh of Shreveport and Jay Orielee Pugh of Lakeland, Fla.; a sister, Margaret Ashbaugh of Blue Springs, Mo. and four grandaughters, Lindsay Thompson and her husband, Jason, and Sylvia Allen, Jessica Allen and Samantha Allen.

      Pallbeareres were Billy Edwards, W.H. Harper, John Stamper, Wiley Holley, Roland Colvin, and John Reeves.
