DEATH OF MRS. WALTER CLEMENT OCCURS CROWLEY

RAYNE, March 20 - Mrs. Walter Clement, 50 years of age, resident of Rayne for many years and well-known throughout this community, died at a hospital in Crowley at 9:40 p.m. Friday, March 17, following a year's illness.
Funeral services were held Sunday from St. Joseph's Catholic Church immediately after High Mass, with Very Reverend Msgr. Hubert Lerschen officiating. Interment followed in the Catholic cemetery.
Mrs. Clement was the former Edna Cailler, native of Cecilia. She married Walter Clement on Nov. 25, 1917
She is survived by her husban; one daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Gankendorff, Jr., of Norwood; her mother, Mrs. Paul Caillier of Breaux Bridge; four sisters, Mrs. J. B. Royer, Mrs. Sidney Domingue, Mrs. Jane LeBlanc, and Mrs. Fred Talbot, all of Port Arthur, Texas; six brothers, Alcee, Claude, Able, Wesley, and Durand Callier all of Port Arthur; and Pvt. Danny Caillier who is serving with the U. S. Army, stationed in New Guinea.

MRS. CLEMENT RITES HELD
Mrs. Walter Clement, 30 years of age, resident of Rayne for many years and well known throughout this entire community, died at the Acadia Hospital in Crowley at 9:00 p.m. Friday, March 27 following a year's illness.
Mrs. Clement underwent a major operation last year, and had improved in health for the last five months but her condition had grown worse recently, and she had been receiving treatment in the Crowley hospital since that time.
Funeral services were held Sunday from St. Joseph's Catholic church immediately after high Mass with the Rev. Msgr. Robert Lerschen officiating. Interment followed in the adjacent Catholic cemetery and until the hour for the funeral, the remains were held at the family residence in South Rayne.
Mrs. Clement was the former Edna Callier, native of Cecilia, La. She was married on November 23, 1917 to Walter Clement and the family had residing in Rayne since that time.
She is survived by her husband, Walter Clement; one daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Gankendorff, Jr., of Norwood, La; her mother, Mrs. Paul Callier, of Breaux Bridge; four sisters, Mrs. J.B. Roper, Mrs. Emory Comeaux, Mrs. J. LeBlanc, and Mrs. Fred Talbot, all of Port Arthur; and six brothers, Alcee, Claude, Able, Wesley, and Darand Callier, all of Port Arthur, Tex, and Pvt. Danny Callier, who is serving with the U.S. Army, stationed in New Orleans.
