    • Obituary:

      Louis Jan Wall Sr. was born October 20, 1940, in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas, and died September 3, 2008 in the hospital in Nacogdoches, Texas. At the time of his death, Louis and his wife Era Oraline Wall lived in Gary, Texas. As of November 23, 2008 they would have been married for 42 years this being the only marriage for each of them. Louis' parents were the late Forest Earl and Willie "Bill" Letha Wall.

      Services for Louis were held on Monday, September 8 at St. John's Church, the church following Forward in Faith, Brownwood, Texas. A short service was held at the Greenleaf Cemetery, 2701 Highway 377 South, Brownwood. His ashes were interred next to his parents and his brother Bob Wall.

      Louis was survived by his wife; two children, Louis Jan Wall, Jr., and Mitzi Oraline Weems; and five grandsons. Louis Jr.'s children are Brady O'Ryan Wall of Liberty Hill, Texas and Laban Jan Wall of Tampa, Florida. Louis Jr. and his wife Donna live in Palestine, Texas. Mitzi and her husband Jeffery Todd Weems' children are Noah Ryce, Asher Lake, and Nathaniel Hunter Weems all presently living in Hawaii.

      Louis started his professional career as a District Executive for the Boy Scouts of America and served for 22 years, subsequently, he began a second career as a property tax appraiser in Brown County, Texas. He next served the Wilson County Appraisal District as well as the Panola County Appraisal District as Chief Appraiser. He retired from the Panola County Appraisal District September 2006. After his retirement and up until his death he provided freelance arbitration services in real property tax disputes in Texas. Immediately prior to his death, Louis spent his tune as a historic firearm aficionado and was a devoted proponent of the Constitutional right to bear arms. He was active in supporting a Godly and Democratic government.

      Louis is remembered as a devoted husband and father who never failed to uphold the morals and values of his Christian faith. He strongly supported the Forward In Faith organization.
