Two Meet Death As Plane Crashes
SAN DIEGO, April 6. - A navy plane crashed near Bonita, south of here, today, killing Ens. Willard E. Norval, of Coronado, and James F. Crow, Jr., an apprentice seaman from White Deer, Tex. The plane was flying in routine maneuvers at the time of the accident, 11th naval district announced.

Two Seamen Killed in Crash of U. S. Army Plane
San Diego, Calif., April 7, (AP) - Ens. Willard E. Norval, 26, Galesburg, Ill., and James F. Crow, Jr., 18, apprentice seaman from White Deer, Texas, were killed today in the crash of their two-seater Army plane near Bonita, 10 miles southeast of San Diego.
The Navy said the flyers were engaged in routine maneuvers when the plane crashed. Cause of the accident was not announced.
Norval had been residing at Coronado. his widow, Katherine, and his mother, Grace Morgan, Galesburg, survive. Crow's next of kin was listed by the Navy as his father, James F. crow, Sr., White Deer.

James F. Crow, Jr.
Funeral arrangements for Apprentice Seaman James F. Crow, Jr., 18, of Spring Creek, who was killed last Monday in an army airplane crash in California, are still pending the arrival of the body, the Duenkel-Carmichael Funeral home in Pampa stated today.
Young Crow, attended Skellytown schools and also attended Borger high school last year. He enlisted in the navy in May, 1941. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Crow, Sr., of Spring Creek. Crow is an employee of the Drilling and Exploration company and lives on the Watkins lease.
Advices in Pampa said they were expecting word from navy authorities momentarily as to when the body would be shipped. If it arrives in the morning, services will probably be held tomorrow afternoon.
Survivors, besides the parents, include: four brothers and three sisters, Elnora, Curtis, Donald, Doris, Mary Loraine, Harold Dean and Jerry De; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Crow of Rogers, New Mexico; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. O. G. Heath of Bakersfield, Calif.; and one aunt, who has just arrived, Mrs. G. W. Good, of Fort Worth. Mrs. Good was accompanied by a close friend of the family, Mrs. Edna Woodson, also of Fort Worth.

James F. Crow, Jr.
Funeral services for James F. Crow, Jr., were set for 4 o'clock this afternoon at the Church of Christ in Pampa, with the pastor officiating. Burial will be in the Pampa cemetery.
Apprentice Seaman James F. Crow, Jr., was killed in an airplane crash at San Diego, California, last Monday. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James F. Crow, Sr., who live on the E.G. Watkins ranch. Crow is employed by the Drilling and Exploration company.

Crash Victim's Body Arrives Here For Burial
The body of Apprentice Seaman James Ferridon Crew [sic], Jr., 18 arrived in Pampa this morning and funeral services will be conducted at 4 o'clock this afternoon in the Central Church of Christ with the Rev. Albert Smith, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery here under direction of Duenkel-Carmichael Funeral home.
Seaman Crow was killed in the crash of a United States Navy dive-bomber near San Diego, Calif., last Monday. Pilot of the plane, who was also killed in the crash, was Ensign Willard E. Norval, 26, of Galesburg, Ill.
Crow's body was accompanied to Pampa by First Class Seaman Donald Martin, member of Crow's squadron, wounded at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, when the Japanese attacked.
Young Crow was born in Sayre, Okla., in 1924. He moved to Skellytown with his parents in 1937, and attended Skellytown schools for three years, playing in the school band The family later moved to the Drilling and Exploration company's Watkins lease north of Skellytown and Crow attended high school in Borger for two years.
He enlisted in the navy in December of 1941 and was sent to San Diego for training in the Navy Air corps. According to a navy communication the fliers were engaged i routine maneuvers when the plane crashed.
Crow is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Crow, Sr.; three sisters, Elnora, Doris Marie, and Mary; and four brothers, Curtis Cecil, Donald Wade, Harold Dean, and Jerry D., all at home.
Pallbearers will be Carl Webb, Leo Maloney, F. H. Alexander, R. C. Murry, C. C. Teaue, F. R. Copenhaver.
