Stanislav O. Pertl
Stanislav "Stanley" O. Pertl, 88, of Caldwell, died Sunday morning in a Bryan nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Phillips and Luckey Funeral Chapel in Caldwell, with the Rev. Harry Thrasher, pastor of the First Assembly of God Church in Caldwell, officiating. Burial will follow at the San Antonio Prairie Cemetery near Caldwell.
Born in Burleson County, Pertl had lived most of his adult life there. He was a veteran of World War I, having served in the U.S. Army. A retired farmer, Pertl was a member of the SPJST Lodge in Caldwell and of the First Assembly of God Church of Caldwell.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Annie Pertl of Caldwell; three sons, Clarence Pertl of Pasadena, Texas, Melvin Pertl of Houston and Joe Pertl of Deanville; two daughters, Mrs. Naomi Rathjen of Lyons and Mrs. Joyce Thatcher of Bryan; a sister, Mrs. Millie Zelenka of Caldwell; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

EXPRESSION OF SYMPATHY
We, the undersigned Resolution Committee, on behalf of SPJST Lodge No. 186, Caldwell, extend our sincere sympathy to the bereaved family of our departed lodge brother
STANISLAV PERTL,
of Caldwell, who passed away Sunday morning, February 6, 1983, in Sherwood Health Care Center in Bryan following a lengthy illness.
Funeral services for Stanislav (Stanley) Otto Pertl, 88, of Route 4, Caldwell, were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 8, in Phillips-Luckey Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Harry Thrasher, pastor of the First Assembly of God Church, and Rev. Butch Farmer, pastor of the Assembly of God Church in College Station, officiating. Interment was in the San Antonio Prairie Cemetery.
Brother Pertl was born May 1, 1894, in Burleson County, the son of Vincent and Emilie Hejl Pertl.
He was a lifetime resident of Burleson County; a farmer and rancher in the Deanville Community.
He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Caldwell and a member of the SPJST Lodge of Caldwell.
He was a veteran of World War I serving with the U.S. Army with the 143rd Inf., 36th Division, enlisting in 1917. He served overseas Champayne Front from July 17, 1918, to May, 1919. Borther Pertl was married to Annie Sebesta November 22, 1922 in the Sebesta home.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Annie Pertl of Caldwell; three sons, Clarence Pertl of Pasadena, Melvin Pertl of Houston, and Joe Pertl of Deanville; two daughters, Mrs. Naomi Rathjen of Lyons and Mrs. Joyce Thatcher of Bryan; 15 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Millie Zelenka of Caldwell.
Brother Pertl was preceded in death by one son, Stanley Dennis Pertl; his parents; two brothers and two sisters.
Pallbearers were Bueford Cothern, Scott Thatcher, Curtis Rathjen, Brad Pertl, Larry Pertl, Mike Pertl, Keith Edwards and Gary Hart.
May our departed brother rest in eternal peace.
