    • Obituary:

Haughton - Bart Chrandle Newton was born September 22, 1956 at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho. Bart graduated from Northville High School, Michigan, in 1974.

At an early age, he discovered that he had an affinity for taking things apart and putting them back together again. Bart soon became a life-long Master Mechanic while forging a family of his own.

During his late career, Bart developed lung cancer and courageously fought it for a year. Due to the efforts of Dr. Jafri, other doctors, Sandy Craigo and other nurses at Feist Wieller Cancer Center, Bart was successful in his treatment. Unfortunately and unexpectedly, Bart died on April 24, 2012 to a suspected blood clot.

He is survived by two children: daughter Stephenie Newton (Marze), her husband Daniel Marze, and their boys Hagen adn Garrison of Bossier City; as well as son Kyle Newton of Bossier City; parents Duane and Dewyene Newton of Haughton; sister Sheri Newton (Riley) and husband Ray Riley of Haughton; brothers Erik of Mooringsport, Drake of Bossier City, Micah and wife Suranut of Haughton; and several nieces, nephews, and grand-nephews.

Bart had a passion for fishing and endeavored to become a fishing guide in Arkansas or Alaska. He enjoyed cooking, was always willing to help family and friends, and loved playing with children. Bark Newton was well loved and will always be missed.
