  Obituary: Savannah, GA - Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at a 1:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne, LA for Claudia "Pie" Alice Richard, 59, who died Thursday, November 24, 2022 at her residence in Savannah, Georgia. Inurnment will be in St Joseph Cemetery #2 in Rayne, LA. Rev. Clint Trahan, Pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Port Barre, LA will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass assisted by Deacon Denis LaCroix conducting the funeral services. "Pie" never had children of her own but she spoiled and taught many children in both the city of Rayne and Savannah, Georgia. Her profession as an instructional assistant made a difference in the lives of many students and teachers. She was an awesome Aunt to her nieces and nephews. She moved to Savannah seven years ago and continued working in elementary education. When she wasn't working she was being nanny to nephews IV, Deacon and Campbell. Over the years, she acquired many names: Pie, Pie Pie, Claud, Nanny, Nanny Pie, Nana Banana and Nana but they all meant one word, "LOVE". Survivors include two sisters, Georgette Richard, Marcia Navarre Haynes and spouse Lonny Haynes, brother, Bruce Navarre and spouse Patti Navarre, godchildren, Andria Fetterman and spouse Jamie Fetterman, Alex Hebert and spouse Jacob, nieces, Megan Navarre, Seville Gaspard, Victoria Gaspard, Kaytlin Gaspard, Breanna Gaspard, nephew, Kylan Gaspard, Skylar Gaspard, godnephews, IV Fetterman, Deacon Fetterman, Campbell Fetterman, great nieces, Ophelia, Elouise and Emersyn, great nephews, Myka, Kyson and Jaxon. She was preceded in death by her mother, Claudette LaCroix Richard, father, Gardy Lee Richard, brother, Jude Anthony Richard, nephew, Anthony Lee Slaton, stepmother, Agnes "Gene" Navarre, two step brothers, Bennett Navarre and Steve Navarre. A Rosary will be prayed Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 11:00 am in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA. The family requests that visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA on Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 9:30 am to 12:30.
