  Obituary: Funeral services for Gregory McBride, age 20, were held Friday at 3 p.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Gregory is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney McBride, of Rayne. Losing his life in an automobile accident in Baton Rouge last Wednesday, his death came as a shock to his family and friends here. Born and reared in Rayne, Greg attended local schools and was well known in the area. Rev. Benoit Drapeau, C.J.M., officiated during the funeral services with pallbearers being Greg's cousins and friends, Robert Thibodaux, Gary Smith, Brian McBride, David LeLeux, Michael Benoit and Martin Melancon. The Gossen Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sidney McBride of Rayne; three brothers, Stephen, John and Sidney McBride, Jr., all of Rayne; two sisters, Janet and Louise, both of Rayne; his paternal grandparents, Mrs. E.S. McBride, Sr., and his maternal grandfather, Ophie Benoit, Sr., all of Rayne. (Published in The Rayne Independent on November 1, 1979)
