      Clovis Bill Vidrine of Groves passed away October 3, 2015 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. He was born in Ville Platte, Louisiana, on December 5, 1923. His parents were Clovis Vidrine Sr. and Isabel Vidrine Hart. He graduated from Ville Platte High School in 1940. He then came to Port Arthur looking for a job at one of the local refineries. He met and married the love of his life, Joyce Champagne, on September 27, 1942. He went into the army on January 30, 1943. He served his country for 3 years in the European Conflict, then 5 months in the Phillipines. He was discharged on January 28, 1946, and saw his baby girl of one year for the first time. He then got a job at Texaco and worked there for 37 years. He retired October 2, 1982. He is preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Bill Hart; his brother, James and wife Wilda Vidrine; and his loving wife of 63 1/2 years, Joyce. Funeral services for Mr. Vidrine will be Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Melancon's Funeral Home in Nederland, with Reverend J.C. Coon officiating. Interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. A gathering of the family and friends will be from 12 noon until services time at 2 p.m. on Tuesday. He leaves behind 3 children: Nanette and Mike Gans of Crystal Beach, Susan and Greg McCord of Peoria, Arizona, and Micah and Nancy Vidrine of Cedar Park, Texas. Grandchildren: Derek and Kristen Gans of Port Arthur, Texas, Jennifer and Jimmy Hand of Groves, Tamara Webster of Arizona, Adam McCord of Phoenix, Arizona, and Ayla McCord of Peoria, Arizona, Morgan Vidrine and Mason Vidrine of Cedar Park, Texas, and 10 great-grandchildren.
