- Obituary:
Edward Noel Hudgens, age 82, passed away April 13, 2016. He was born on September 9, 1933 to Henry Leo Hudgens and Lourene Hudgens in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was raised in Oklahoma. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on July 3, 1951 and served during the Korean War. He served as a deck hand on the USS Currier. He received the China Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Ribbon, and the National Defense Service Ribbon. After his discharge, he married Jean Tidwell Hudgens. They were married for 30 years. He was married to Joan Hudgens for 28 years. Noel Hudgens was employed by the Corpus Christi Fire Department for 25 years. He was also a Director of Fire and Safety at West Texas A&M for 10 years.
Noel is survived by his wife Joan Hudgens of 28 years. His daughter LaRae Meyer (Tim Pigott) of San Antonio, Texas. Son Randy Hudgens (Regina Hudgens) of Blanco, Texas. His siblings Alice Hudgens of Barling, Arkansas, John (Julie) Hudgens of Rolfe, Iowa , David (Brenda) Hudgens of Corpus Christi, Texas, James (Joanne) Hudgens of Sallisaw, Oklahoma. His grandchildren Lauren and Stephanie Meyer of Austin, Texas. His great grandchildren Rosalie and Willow Rankin of Austin, Texas.
The honorary pallbearers will be Randy, John, David, James, and Tim. In lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to the Corpus Christi Professional Firefighters Relief and Outreach Find.
