LUBBOCK - Celia Monique Waldrop Mansell passed away Sunday, Sep. 20, 2015. We will gather for fellowship and remembrance from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life of 51 years on Friday, Sept. 25, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel. A tribute of Monique's life may be found at www.memorialdesigners.net, where you may leave memories and expressions of sympathy for her family. A longtime resident of Lubbock, Monique was born on Aug. 18, 1964, to Jack and Celia Reese Waldrop in Hamlin, Texas. She grew up in Abilene and Amarillo, Texas. Monique confessed Christ and was baptized at the age of 17. On Dec. 12, 2014, Monique married the love of her life, Grant, in Las Vegas, Nev. Survivors include her husband, Grant Vaughan; parents, Jack and Celia Waldrop; son, John Thomas Larson II and his wife, Brenee' Larson, grand puppies, and her Chihuahua, Diego. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Dee and Mabel Reese, and paternal grandparents, Euria and Hattie Lou Waldrop. Monique had a servant's heart and was loved by all who knew her. She was quick-witted and had a sense of humor. Children and animals immediately took to her, and she had a special fondness for the elderly. A pharmacy technician by training, she worked in the health care field for many years. As owner of Helping Hands Home Healthcare, she enjoyed serving the elderly and ill, allowing them to remain in their homes. Caring for others and sharing of herself with those in need was what she loved to do. At the time of her death, Monique was serving as the President of the Lubbock Elks Lodge and previously had been very active in the Lubbock Lions Club. She loved to travel and always did the driving on road trips. Memorial contributions are welcome and the family suggests, Texas Elk Children's Services Inc., 1963 FM1586, Gonzales, TX 78629.
