Ex-Local Man's Funeral Today
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m Sunday at Sam Green Funeral Home in Houston, Tex., for Powell W. Fletcher, 63, of Houston, former Shreveporter who died Friday night in a Houston hospital after a three month illness.
A retired postal supervisor, Mr. Fletcher, a former local trolley driver, moved to Houston from Shreveport about 25 years ago. He was born here and made his home here until moving to Houston.
Graveside services will be held in Forest Park Cemetery here at 11 a.m. Monday, conducted by members of the local Scottish Rite body.
In addition to the widow, Mrs. Verlie Houston Fletcher, survivors include one daughter, Mrs. E. J. Beck, also of Houston; one sister and two grandsons.
