Funeral services will be held Monday at a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in the Martin and Castille Funeral Home Chapel for James J. Daigle, 69, who died Saturday, Jan. 18, 1992 at 4:06 a.m. at his residence in Lafayette.
Interment will be in the Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
The Rev. Bennett J. Voorhies, Pastor, St. Patrick Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the services.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Toussel Daigle of Lafayette; one daughter, Mrs. Aaron "Susan" Savant of Brusly; three sons, Michael J. Daigle, M.D. and Juan P. Daigle, both of Lafayette, and Major Patrick J. Daigle M.D. of Wright Patterson A.F.B., Dayton, Ohio; nine grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Leo (Mary) Borel of Austin, Texas; and four brothers, Richard Daigle of El Paso, Texas, Jack Daigle and Brother Thomas Daigle, both of Lafayette, and Frank Daigle of New Orleans. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Charles Daigle and John Harry Daigle.
A native and lifelong resident of Lafayette, Mr. Daigle was the son of the late Frank Daigle and the former Laura LeBlanc, both natives of Broussard.
He was a veteran of military service having retired as a Lt. Col. with the United States Air Force and served as ex commander of the American P.O.W.'s.
Mr. Daigle was a member of the American Legion Post #69, the V.F.W. #203 and the Disabled American Veterans as well as the Woodmen of the World, the Golden Age Club, the Greenhouse, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the A.A.R.P. and the American Postal Workers Union.
A rosary will be recited Sunday at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
The Family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. until time of services Monday.
Pallbearers are members of England Air Force Base. Honorary pallbearers are Aaron J. Savant, Jonathan E. Daigle, Joshua P. Daigle, Jeremy P. Daigle, Christopher Daigle and Nicholas Daigle.
Martin and Castille Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Daigle, 69, of Lafayette died at 4:08 a.m. Saturday in his residence.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Lafayette. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and retired as a lieutenant colonel. He served as ex-commander of the American POWs. He was a member of the American Legion Post 69, VFW Post 203 and Disabled American Veterans. He was also a member of the Woodmen of the World, Golden Age Club, the Greenhouse, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, AARP and the American Postal Workers Union.
