Pioneer Resident Dies at White Oak
Eason T. Crow, a pioneer citizen and retired farmer of near White Oak, died Friday morning at his home following a prolonged illness. E. W. Stovall, minister of the Blytheville Church of Christ, conducted the services, which were held Sunday afternoon at the Church of Christ in Holcomb. Mr. Crow was 91.
A native of Montgomery, Ala., where he was born April 8, 1855, he moved to Randolph, Tenn., and later to Finley, Tenn. Just after the Civil War the family moved to Dunklin County and settled near Clarkton.
In March, 1879 he was married to Mrs. Barbara Wells Robinson, who died March 9, 1909. To this union was born six children, four of whom are living. He married Mrs. Florence Ray in January of 1912, and to this union three children were born.
Mr. Crow was a member of the Church of Christ and had been active in the work of the congregation at Holcomb.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Florence Crow; five daughters, Mrs. R. H. Hogue of Bragg City, Mrs. Omar Wilson of Lepanto, Ark., Mrs. Robert Vaughn of Cairo, Ill., Mrs. George Luther of White Oak, and Mrs. Vernon Winn of Chicago, Ill.; two sons, James E. Crow of Holcomb and Ernest Crow of St. Louis; five stepchildren, Mrs. Lula Hostetler of Holcomb, Mrs. Lida Robinson of St. Louis, Mrs. Charles Davis of Holcomb, Edmund Ray of San Diego, Cailf., and Mrs. J. Weir of Chicago, Ill.; 24 grandchildren; 19 step granchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and 29 step great grandchildren.
Pall bearers were grandsons, and the flower girls were granddaughters.
