    • Obituary:

      MORAN- Harry S. Gates, 67, of Moran, Texas, died Thursday, August 25, 2005 at a Breckenridge hospital.

      Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2005 at the First United Methodist Church in Albany. Rev. Kay Reed officiated. Burial followed in the Moran Cemetery directed by Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home of Albany.

      He was born on October 17, 1936 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He married Gwen Burton in 1988. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Albany High School, and served 23 years in the United States Navy. He was a member of the American Legion. He returned to Albany in 1986.

      He is survived by his wife, Gwen Gates of Moran; one son, Harry S. Gates, Jr., of Indianapolis, Indiana; one step-daughter, Tammy Titsworth and husband Paul of Euless; one step-son, Steve Taggart of Richland Hills, TX; one step-granddaughter, Laura Halbert of Moran; one brother, Rubert Gates and wife, Priscilla of Albany; as well as many nieces and nephews.

      One brother, Johnny Gates preceded him in death.
