    Skyline Club - Austin, Texas
    Warren and his wife Clara were the owners of the Skyline Club in Austin, Tx. Noted performers there included Elvis Presley and Johnny Horton. Hank Williams, Sr. and Johnny Horton shared the distinction of the Skyline Club being the last venue that each performed at prior to their death. Johnny Horton died in a car wreck the same night after leaving the club.

    • Obituary:

      Warren C. Stark, 61, of Austin died Saturday.

      He was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary-Flotilla #75, Pilot Knob VFW #8925, past member of Walnut Creek Optimist Club.

      Mr. Stark was the owner-operator of the Skyline Club for 31-years before his retirement in 1977.

      He was the husband of Clara Stark; father and father-in-law of Cathy and Roland Quick; brother of Margaret Joy Stark; brother and brother-in-law of Gerald F. and Dorothy N. Stark, all of Austin.

      Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday in the Colonial Chapel of the Cook-Walden Funeral Home. Rev. A.D. Eberhart will officiate, and burial will be in Capital Memorial Hill.

      Family will receive friends at the Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Monday.
