    • Obituary:

      STEPHENVILLE - David Ward, 62, a peace officer, died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2001, at a Houston hospital.

      Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Stephenville. Burial: Oak Dale Cemetery. Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

      David was born May 19, 1939, in Texon. He spent most of his life in law enforcement and as a private investigator. He was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church. He was a Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite.

      Survivors: Wife, Kathy; sons, Todd and Scott Ward, both of Stephenville.
