    • Obituary:

Brenda Campbell Gant, affectionately known as "Tutu," age 68, of Townsend, TN, (formerly of Birmingham), passed away peacefully on December 21, 2017, with family at her side. The visitation will be held Tuesday, December 26, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Elmwood Chapel, with a private family graveside following.

Brenda was born in 1949 in Birmingham and was a 1967 graduate of Fairfield High School. She attended Auburn University before beginning her career at BellSouth, where she worked more than 20 years, retiring as a sales manager in marketing. Brenda was also heavily involved in the Emblem Club for many years, serving as State President in 1980-81. Brenda was an inspiration to all who knew her. Even through her pain and illnesses, she was able to laugh and make others laugh. She enjoyed dogs, playing cards, and watching football (especially the Auburn Tigers!).

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Betty Campbell, her brother Reggie Campbell, and her beloved dog Gizmo.

She is survived by her husband who dearly loved her, Lloyd Gant; her precious daughter and son-in-law, Kerri and Dennis Stokes; her grandchildren Trey, Kylie, and Ella Stokes; her nephews Blake Campbell (Dena) and Scott Campbell; her great-niece Millie; her brother-in-law Robert Gant (Debbie); her sister-in-law Catherine Larson (Fred); her "baby girl" Muffi; and a host of special family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Smoky Mountain Animal Care Foundation @ www.smacf.com or P. O. Box 1099, Alcoa, TN 37701, in memory of Brenda Gant.
