  Obituary: Betty Smith Castille March 25, 1939 - February 20, 2026 Rayne, LA - Funeral services will be held on, February 23, 2026, at a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at Gossen Funeral Home Chapel in for Betty Smith Castille, 86, who died Friday February 20, 2026, at her residence in Indian Bayou. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Mausoleum in Rayne, LA. Pastor Micah Collins of Elizabeth Memorial Baptist of Branch will be the Celebrant of the funeral services. Betty was a loving wife, devoted mother, whose warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew her. She cherished her family above all else and created a home filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories. Betty found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved spending time crabbing and fishing, appreciating the peace and beauty of the water. She also enjoyed trips to the casino, where her lively spirit and bright smile could light up any room. Dancing was another of her favorite pastimes, and she could often be found moving to the music with happiness and grace. Betty's legacy lives on through her family and friends, who will forever remember her loving heart, joyful spirit, and the special moments they shared together. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always. Survivors include husband, Louis Castille, Jr., daughters, Vicky Castille, Tammy Broussard and spouse Paul Broussard, Sheila Hebert and spouse Travis Hebert, sons, Mark Clement, Louis Castille, III and spouse Alice Castille, 15 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son, Ronald Clement, son, Gregory Clement, father, Frank Smith, mother, Nita Alleman, great grandchild, Aiken Clement, sister, Audrey Bourque, brother, Alton Smith, brother, Ernest Cormier, brother, Houston Smith. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Clement, Shawn Clement, Caanan Hebert, Laken Aubrey, Heath Aubrey, and Braylon Aubrey. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mark Clement, Louis Castille III and Paul Clement. A Rosary will be prayed Sunday at 6:00 pm in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne LA. The family requests that visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne LA on Sunday February 22, 2026, from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm and on Monday February 23, 2026, from 8:00 am to 10:00 am. The Castille family wishes to thank her caretakers Vicki Castille, Makenna Aubrey, and Cheri Manes, also a special thank you to Audubon Hospice to the special care she given.
