Roy Arten Carr
Roy Arten Carr, 86, of Orange, died Saturday, May 6, 2000, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Orange.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Rev. Gene Tulley, pastor of the Drake Memorial Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Masonic graveside rites will follow at Evergreen Cemetery under the auspices of Madison Lodge 126 AF & AM.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Born in Gulfport, Miss., to Harry I and Idell Fraser Carr, Mr. Carr lived in Orange until Roy Arten Carr, 86, of about 1950, when he and his wife moved to Galena Park. He worked as a sales clerk with Foley's Department Store in Houston for 30 years.
Following the death of his wife, Mr. Carr returned to live in Orange in 1996. He was a member of Drake Memorial Presbyterian Church and Madison Lodge 126 AF & AM.
Preceded in death by his wife, Mary Vivian Bourgeois Carr, he is survived by nieces and nephews.
