      J.W. 'Jake' Brothers

      WICHITA FALLS - J.W. "Jake" Brothers, 71, died Tuesday in a local care center.

      Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Seymour Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Mark Embree officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Seymour.

      Mr. Brothers was born in Seymour and was a longtime resident of Wichita Falls. He was employed in the city of Wichita Falls' parks department.

      He was a member of the Church of Christ and the American Legion and was a veteran of World War II.

      He was the widower of Lillian Love Hamrick Brothers.

      Survivors include two daughters, Janice Givens and Wanda McClure, both of Electra; a son, Johnnie Ray Dougherty of Sanford, Maine; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
