  Obituary: Juanita Hamlin, 84, of Big Spring, died on Monday, January 26, 2004, in a local care facility. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 28, 2004 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Ralph Anderson, minister of Birdwell Lane Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park. She was born on January 20, 1920, in Hemphill County, Texas. Juanita graduated from Big Spring High School in 1938. She served in the United States Army with the Transportation Corps with Booklyn Army Base, New York during World War II. She graduated from Abilene Christian College in 1950 with a BS in Elementary Education. She had worked as a nurse at Webb Air Force Base for 15 years and as a private duty nurse for 5 years. was a member of 14th and Main Church of Christ. Juanita had been a member of the Rebekah Lodge # 284 since May 1961 and had held all offices at one time or another. Survivors include one nephew and his wife, Hulan and Billie Hamlin of Aiken; three great nieces and one great nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, Monta Lee and Pauline Reynolds Hamlin; two brothers, Harry Clinton Hamlin in 1969 and Monta Lloyd Hamlin in 1940.
