    • Obituary:

Pioneer Citizen Is Dead Today; Funeral Friday

In the passing of J. Thomas Caywood, this morning at 10:30 o'clock at his family residence in this city, another of Bryan and Brazos county's pioneer citizens has gone. Mr. Caywood was a native of Brazos county. He was born in the Peach Creek community in the southern part of the county, December 16, 1853 and resided in the county and in Bryan practically all his life.

He has been seriously ill for some weeks past and on account of his feeble condition and advanced age, little hope has been held out for his recovery. At the time of his death Mr. Caywood was 75 years of age.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10 o'clock from his late residence, conducted by Rev. C.B. Thompson of North Zulch, former pastor of the Free Baptist church, this city. Interment will be made in Bryan city cemetery under direction of McCulloch-Dansby Co.

Pallbearers will be: E.W. Crenshaw, J.L. Edge, E.J. Jenkins, Jess Hensarling, Will Johnson, Jas. W. James.

Deceased is survived by his aged widow, two brothers and one sister, L.C. Caywood and Bud Caywood both of Rockdale, and Mrs. J.L. Carmack of Hereford, Texas.
