    • Obituary:

      MATTOON - Roy Leo Bryant, 58, of 520 N. 26th died at 5:15 a.m. Sunday (Feb. 26, 1978) at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.

      The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Schilling's Funeral Home with Rev. Jake Frederick officiating. Burial will be in Kellar Cemetery at Lovington.

      Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Masonic rites will be conducted at 7:30 p.m.

      He was born Aug. 21, 1919, in Seymour, Texas, a son of Joel B. and Esther Brothers Bryant. He married Betty Doss, who survives.

      Besides his wife, survivors include four sons, Jerry of San Jose, Calif.; Bud of Santa Clara, Calif., and Roger and Robert, both of Mattoon; four daughters, Mrs. Joan Romos of Santa Clara; Mrs. Andy Russell of Newman; Mrs. Rose Mary Geiger of Citra, Fla., and Mrs. Jo Ella Freeman of Mattoon; three brothers, E.J. Bryant of Houston, Texas; Ernest Bryant of Andrews, Texas and Joe H. Bryant of Texas City, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Annetta High of Seagraves, Texas; Mrs. Claudia Gross of Andrews, Texas, and Mrs. Flora Sturgeon of Seymour, Texas; and 12 grandchildren

      He was a member of the Sullivan Masonic Lodge, Bloomington Consistory, Shrine Club of East St. Louis, Mattoon Moose Lodge, Independent Order of Foresters, Old Trail National Shrine Club and the Church of Christ of Seagraves, Texas.
