Mrs. Alta Mae Scogin
KERMIT (Staff) - Mrs. Alta Mae Scogin, 40, died at 6:15 a.m. Sunday in Memorial Hospital here following a lengthy illness.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Cooper Funeral Chapel by Buddy Fritz, pastor of Eastside Church of Christ. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in Gaines County Memorial Cemetery in Seminole.
Born Aug. 5, 1928, in Seymour, Mrs. Scogin was a member of the Baptist Church. She was married to Lawrence T. Scogin in Nacogdoches on Dec. 28, 1944. The couple had lived in Kermit four years, moving here from Seminole.
Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Ann Wilcox of Carlsbad, N. M., and Mrs. Charlotte Elaine Foutch of Waynesville, Mo.; three sisters, Mrs. B. J. Gross of Andrews, Mrs. B. H. High of Seagraves and Mrs. W. H. Sturgeon of Houston; four brothers, E. J. and Roy Bryant of Texas City and E. B. Brant of Andrews; and two grandchildren.
