    • Obituary:

Dorothy Naquin LeBleu, 95, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2023, surrounded by her children in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Dorothy "Dot" was the first born of Sam and Agnes Naquin. In 1956, she met the love of her life, John "Freeman" LeBleu and they were married for 59 wonderful years until his passing in 2016.

Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She retired from a long career at McNeese State University after 25+ years. Dot never met a stranger and led a life dedicated to caring for those around her. While Dot loved road trips and visiting with her dear friends and family, she especially treasured time with her grandkids and loved being their "Maw Maw," never failing to listen, encourage and build special memories with each one.

Those who had the pleasure of enjoying a cup of coffee with Dot were always in for a real treat as she shared her mind on any and all subject matters. Her most common saying always included a pointed finger followed by "Let me tell you something." Her life can be characterized by her strength and tenacity as well as her warmth and grace. She loved hard, and the love she held for her family and friends will always be cherished.

Dorothy is survived by her two sons, Floyd Michael Ketchum (Dale, wife) of Simpson, LA and John Ricky Ketchum (Donna, wife) of Sulphur, LA; and one daughter, Rebecca Anne James (Bob, husband), of Colorado Springs, CO. She leaves behind seven grandchildren, Jake Stine, Kristen Stanislaus, Kimberly Boudreaux, Troy Ketchum, Amy Stine, Lauren James, and Joshua James; and twelve great grandchildren, Drew, Kyle and Max Stanislaus; Kellen, Jack and Hank Ketchum; and Tristan and Brooklyn Stine; Clare, Elizabeth, and Kate Boudreaux; Alex James; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Preceding Dorothy in death are her parents; siblings, Sara Lee, Jim and Sammy; husband, Freeman; two grandsons, Chad Ketchum and Daniel James; and one granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Stine.

Father Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate the funeral service on November 9, 2023, at 12:00PM in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Thursday from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM.
