  Obituary: Herman Knouse, 70, of Zwolle, died at his home, Friday, March 18, at 2:30 a.m., after a short illness. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 19, at 2 p.m., in the Zwolle First Baptist church, with the Rev. Lee Dickson officiating. Burial was in the Zwolle Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Surviving Mr. Knouse are his widow, Mrs. Ruth Knouse of Zwolle; one son, Herman Knouse Jr. of Livingston, Tex.; one brother, Frank Knouse of Olla; two sisters, Mrs. J. D. Bradley of Huntsville, Tex., and Mrs. H. H. Hensen of Urania, La.; and three grandchildren. Pallbearers were Woodrow Salter, James Salter, Jim Graves, Sherman Tatum, John Patton, Fred Roberson, Bill Hopkins, and Doyle Dewitt. (Published in The Sabine Index on March 24, 1977)
