Funeral Services for Mrs. Effie L. Andrus Are Held Here Oct. 31
Mrs. Effie L. Andrus, 76, a native of Madison County, died October 29 in the Madison County Hospital. Mrs. Andrus was making her home in El Monte, Calif., but was visiting in Bedias with her sister, Mrs. Ethel Garrett, when she became ill and was brought to the local hospital.
Mrs. Andrus was born in Madison County April 30, 1886, and was Effie L. Crow before her marriage 49 years ago to Edward D. Andrus, who died 42 years ago. She had been a member of the Methodist Church for many years.
Surviving her are four sons, Audrey Andrus of Brooklyn, N.Y., Milton Andrus of Livingston, Raymond Andrus of Houston and Edwin Andrus of Ft. Worth; four brothers, Tom Crow of Houston, Joe and Mance Crow of North Zulch and Coy Crow of Huntsville; five sisters, Mrs. Garrett and Mrs. Virdie Risinger of Bedias, Mrs. Irene Mathis and Mrs. Jewell Buckhaults of Houston and Mrs. Missie Stone of Pasadena; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Riddle Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m. October 31 with the Rev. Nelson Terry, pastor of the Bedias Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in the Willowhole Cemetery.
